ANNOUNCEMENTS -- August 1
FLOWERS ARE GIVEN TODAY BY Jamie Clay to the Glory of God and in memory of her mother, Naomi Clay.
OUR LITURGIST TODAY is Marita Durham.
SCHOOL WILL BE STARTING AGAIN SOON. This is the seventeenth year for “SS KIDS,” an interdenominational mission project, right here in the Madison area to provide school supplies for children who do not have them. Grace Presbyterian Church will again participate in this project. Supplies and money will be collected today. Only money will be collected on August 8.
THERE WILL BE A CALLED MEETING following the service today for the purpose of electing an elder to serve out the remainder of Marita Durham’s term on the session as her duties as moderator of NAP’s Committee on Ministry demand so much of her time. The Nominating Committee has asked Lynne Bartholomae and she has agreed to serve.
Your second quarter 2010 contribution statements are available on a table in the Narthex beside the door to the sanctuary. If you want your statements for this year sent to you by email, please tell Jim Kirkwood. He also has automatic fund transfer forms, if you want to save on writing checks.
THE SESSION WILL MEET TONIGHT at the church at 6:15 p.m.
NO YOUTH GROUP TONIGHT.
THE CAREGIVER’S SUPPORT GROUP will meet tomorrow, August 2, at 7:00 p.m. at Grace in the fellowship hall. If you are caring for someone, and need to talk and get some helpful ideas for caring for both your care receiver and yourself, please come and join us. If you have any questions please contact Valerie McLaughlin 837-8108.
THE ANNUAL PANCAKE BREAKFAST WILL BE Sunday, August 8, from 9:30- 10:30 a.m. This is the traditional kick-off to our new Sunday School year. Come for a tasty breakfast, then children can meet their teachers and see their Sunday School rooms; you can also learn about various volunteer opportunities with the Christian Education Team. Volunteers are needed for set-up, cooking, and clean-up. Tell Sallye Elliott if you wish to help.
THE MAIN EVENT, A LEADERSHIP TRAINING event in Birmingham, is August 13-14. More information is on the bulletin board.
2010 CHRISTMAS CARDS, designed by a Hope Academy student and benefitting the Presbyterian Home for Children, are available by order through August 16. More information and a view of the cards are on the bulletin board in the hall. Cards will be shipped in September.
