Grace Presbyterian Church

Grace has started a new initiative with community outreach drives.

Spring 2019 - Assistance Kits

Our Confirmation Class will be assembling “assistance kits” with gallon baggies, water bottles, toothbrushes, tooth paste, soap, tissues, washcloths, crackers and/or granola bars. Please bring in any of these items to the church by Sunday, April 14. This will give the class time to assemble the kits and redistribute them to congregation members who would like to keep one or two in their cars for those times when they are asked for assistance from someone in need.

Past drives:

Fall 2018 - Kids to Love

The Grace Helping Madison drive for the fall will benefit Kids to Love. Kids to Love is a non-profit organization, located in Madison, that helps foster children find forever families. Many of these foster children are between the ages of 10 and 18. For those who do not find a family, Kids to Love provides housing, education, and independent living skills training.

In the narthex, there is a Kids to Love fall tree. It was decorated by the youth group with leaves that have wish list items for Kids to Love’s Christmas for the Kids program. Please find a leaf with an item you wish to purchase and donate, and keep the leaf so the youth know which items are taken. Please note that all donated items must be new (not used). Donations will be collected at Grace until December 1.

Spring 2018 - INSIDE-OUT Ministries

Our Grace spring drive is a group effort with Congregation Care and the Youth Group. We will be collecting a range of basic needs for Inside-Out Ministries located here in Madison to serve the City of Madison. Inside-Out is an All-Volunteer service organization. There current needs are:
  • Clothes: new and gently used coats, mittens, hats, and scarves
  • Food Items: canned fruit, spaghetti sauce, canned/packets of meat, pancake syrup, cereal, jelly, bottles of juice
  • Clean Items: clothes detergent, paper towels, toilet paper, multipurpose cleaners (ie. 409, Lysol)
  • Hygiene Products: deodorant and shampoo
Drop off at Grace anytime this spring.

Fall 2017 - Baby Wipes and small paper plates

The Handbell Choir of Grace has suggested our latest community outreach drive. We will be collecting baby wipes and small paper plates to support our local United Cerebral Palsy of Huntsville and Tennessee Valley. UCP has a donation list on their website. Please drop off donations at Grace anytime this fall.

Summer 2017 - PET SUPPLIES

The Youth of Grace have chosen to help MARF (Madison Animal Rescue Foundation) for the church’s second quarter drive. MARF needs dog and cat food, dog and cat toys, and new or gently used crates and carriers for all size pets. Please bring your donations to the church by July 1. For more details (such as pet food brands, etc.) see MARF’s wish list.

Spring 2017 - ADULT DIAPERS

Grace is having another drive to help CASA (Care Assurance System for the Aging and Homebound of Madison County). CASA needs all sizes of adult diapers (or absorbent underwear) for the aging they serve. Please consider donating a package of diapers. Drop off at the church.

The first donation opportunity helps fulfill a CASA need. Grace is collecting plastic food containers (clean used or new). Containers will be used by CASA to distribute fruits and vegetables to the elderly this fall. Please bring plastic container to Grace by September 11, and place in the blue tub outside the front door.
