Past drives
Spring 2020 – Isolation Kits
THIS QUARTER’S GRACE HELPING MADISON DRIVE will support CASA of Madison County. CASA is putting together isolation kits for their clients during the coronavirus pandemic. Their most needed items are low sodium canned vegetables, spaghetti sauces, peanut butter, cereal (no sugar added), oatmeal (smaller containers), cleaning supplies (dish soap, laundry detergent, Clorox wipes, Lysol), and toiletries such as toothpaste, body soap (bar or liquid), hand soap (bar or liquid), shampoo, and conditioner. Donated items can be placed in the gray bin outside Grace PC’s front doors. For a list of more items and a link to donate online for needed supplies, go to the CASA Madison County website.
Fall 2019 – Sock Drive
The Grace Helping Madison drive for the fall will be a sock drive for the homeless shelters in the Madison/Huntsville area. Please bring brand new pairs of socks and place them in the blue bin in the narthex. Men’s, women’s, and children’s socks in all sizes are needed. Any style of socks will be welcome. Socks are a constant need for our homeless brothers and sisters, so providing new socks will help them stay warm during the upcoming winter and promote good foot care. The sock drive will run through January 5, 2020.
Spring 2019 – Assistance Kits
Our Confirmation Class will be assembling “assistance kits” with gallon baggies, water bottles, toothbrushes, tooth paste, soap, tissues, washcloths, crackers and/or granola bars. Please bring in any of these items to the church by Sunday, April 14. This will give the class time to assemble the kits and redistribute them to congregation members who would like to keep one or two in their cars for those times when they are asked for assistance from someone in need.
Fall 2018 – Kids to Love
The Grace Helping Madison drive for the fall will benefit Kids to Love. Kids to Love is a non-profit organization, located in Madison, that helps foster children find forever families. Many of these foster children are between the ages of 10 and 18. For those who do not find a family, Kids to Love provides housing, education, and independent living skills training.
In the narthex, there is a Kids to Love fall tree. It was decorated by the youth group with leaves that have wish list items for Kids to Love’s Christmas for the Kids program. Please find a leaf with an item you wish to purchase and donate, and keep the leaf so the youth know which items are taken. Please note that all donated items must be new (not used). Donations will be collected at Grace until December 1.
