Minister – Dr. Karl Kling

Dr. Karl Kling has enjoyed serving and sharing in ministry with congregations in Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Florida, Georgia, and Alabama during 45 years of pastoral ministry in the Presbyterian Church (USA).

Pastor Karl earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from Austin Presbyterian Seminary and his M.Div. degree from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California.  His Bachelor of Science degree is in Organizational Management from the Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania.  While serving churches in the Oklahoma City area for ten years he also had a practice in Marriage and Family Therapy.

He is a member of North Alabama Presbytery, a Clinical Fellow in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and a Clinical Fellow and Psychotherapist Member of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE).

Pastor Karl and Susan Day Kling have been married for 46 years.  Susan grew up in Birmingham, Alabama as a member of Sixth Avenue Presbyterian Church and Mountain Brook Presbyterian Church.

They have two sons and daughters- in- law and six grandchildren. Karl and Susan moved to Huntsville in 2019 to be close to their children, grandchildren, and large extended family.  They are delighted to be sharing in the worship, fellowship, and outreach of Grace Presbyterian Church.

Director of Music Ministries and Choir Director – Jamie Clay

Jamie Clay received a Bachelor of Science degree from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, a Master of Arts degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, and a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in music from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Jamie is currently teaching piano, voice, clarinet, saxophone, and flute at Colors Fine Arts Center.

Organist – Brenda Davis

Brenda holds a BS degree in Music Education from South Carolina State University and a Masters in Secondary School Counselling and Psychology from Alabama A&M University. Brenda is a member of Fellowship Presbyterian Church where she previously served as Director of Music Ministry, retiring in 2018. She is also retired as Director of Career Development Services from Alabama A&M University. Brenda is a founder/director of the Huntsville Spiritual Chorale, Inc. along with her husband, William.

Meleah Shrout – Pianist

Meleah Shrout holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and a Master of Music in Collaborative Piano. In 2018, Meleah and her husband Chris moved to Huntsville for a job, and they soon felt like this was home. Meleah currently accompanies for The Huntsville Community Chorus Youth Chorale and works with students as an accompanist at UAH. She enjoys teaching and has a studio at Lowe Mill Arts and Entertainment where she works with children and adults of all ages. When she is not playing the piano, Meleah spends time with her husband and two young children. They enjoy being outside, hosting friends and family, and exploring new things in town.

Office Administrator – Annette Solari

A lifelong Presbyterian, Annette has been a member at Grace for more than 25 years and has served as office administrator since February 2025. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Athens State University in 1985 and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in 2000 from the Florida Institute of Technology. Annette enjoyed an early career in accounting and financial analysis before earning her Project Management Certification (PMP) in 2011. She managed projects and the project office at a mid-size Huntsville technology company, served as Chief Financial Officer of a small defense contractor and held two positions supporting NASA before semi-retiring in 2025. Annette lives in Monrovia with her husband, John. She has two sons, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
