Grace Presbyterian Church, USA is a Matthew 25 Congregation

This transformative movement calls on mid councils, congregations, and groups to live out the church’s mission through bold and compassionate discipleship. Rooted in Jesus’ teachings in Matthew 25:31-46, this movement entails three core pillars: building congregational vitality, dismantling structural racism, and eradicating systemic poverty.

At Grace we are currently focused on Eradicating Systemic Poverty by acting on our beliefs and working to change laws, policies, plans, and structures in our society that perpetuate economic exploitation of people who are poor – one of the three Core Pillars of the Matthew 25 Initiative. We support the following ministries: Enable of Madison County, Presbyterian Home for Children, St. Elizabeth Food Bank, and Little Free Pantry. The produce from the Harvest of Grace Community Garden is donated to the hungry of Madison County. Visit https://www.pcusa.org/matthew25 to learn more.

Eradicating Systematic Poverty

This mission initiative focuses on meeting immediate needs and responding meaningfully to the current economic challenges of food scarcity facing many families. We support the following ministries: Enable of Madison County, Presbyterian Home for Children, and St. Elizabeth Food Bank. The produce from the Harvest of Grace Community Garden is donated to the hungry of Madison County. We are also exploring additional ways to address the issue of hunger by setting up regular donation and volunteer opportunities with the North Alabama Food Bank and organizing seasonal efforts such as funding Thanksgiving or birthday boxes for families in need.
